Blunk Pitcher
Blunk Pitcher
This limited edition soy sauce pitcher is based on an original made by JB Blunk around 1975, as part of a series of soy sauce pitchers and soy sauce dishes. An emblematic token of Blunk’s commitment to making every object in the Blunk House, from furniture to tableware to light switches, this stoneware reproduction by Strasbourg-based ceramicist Sophie Irwin is surprisingly light while retaining the pleasantly rough texture of the stoneware. Two subtly contrasting glazes at the top and bottom frame a rounded main body, topped with a conical cork.
This limited edition reproduction was produced in collaboration with WE DO NOT WORK ALONE, which produces limited series of functional objects designed by artists, on the occasion of the JB Blunk: Continuum exhibition at the Fondation d’entreprise Martell in Cognac, France, in 2024.
