JB Blunk: Continuum Poster – Shield - Bizen

$100.00

In collaboration with the JB Blunk Estate, graphic designer Kajsa Ståhl of Åbäke has designed two limited edition double-sided screen print posters on the occasion of the exhibition JB Blunk: Continuum at the Fondation d'entreprise Martell in Cognac, France. The first retrospective of JB Blunk's work in Europe, the exhibition comprises over 150 artworks and ephemera drawn from the Estate's permanent collection, including never-before-seen early works from his student days at University of California, Los Angeles, and wooden maquettes from his studio.

This poster features an early work made by Blunk inspired by his time in Bizen, Japan, set against glossy sky-blue; the reverse side features a photograph of Blunk's two young sons in front of the kiln he hand-built next to the Blunk House in the early 1960s, on lustrous gold paper.

Screen printed on blue back paper by Lézard Graphique in France.
