Muse
Muse
For the first time, the JB Blunk Estate is issuing limited edition reproductions of JB Blunk’s iconic unisex rings in silver and recycled 18-karat gold, made in collaboration with fine jewelry designer J. Hannah in Los Angeles, California. While the rings themselves were treasured gifts for the family and friends for whom Blunk made them, they are also reminiscent of Blunk’s monumental sculptures and indeed often served as models for larger works, making them wearable sculptures.
Muse takes the shape of a ring Blunk made in 1974, as a Christmas gift for his partner Christine Nielson. She considered it their wedding ring, and wore it on her ring finger for decades. Earlier that year, Blunk had finished one of his well-known public seating sculptures, The Muse (1973–74), at the Experiment in International Living in Vermont, carved from one contiguous salvaged Redwood burl.
Unisex
These rings are a limited edition run of 50. Each unisex ring is engraved on the interior with its edition number and hallmark.
These precious objects are made to order; please allow 8–10 weeks for delivery.
Sizing:
For Muse we recommend sizing 1/2 size up from your true ring size.
Please note, ring sizing is an art, not a science, due to the variations in ring widths and the shapes of human fingers. These rings are extremely difficult to resize. Please be mindful of this when determining your size. We highly recommend that you visit a professional jeweler to determine your true ring size before ordering. Please visit our FAQs if you have other questions.
Available only until December 31, 2024.
