Blunk Tray

$1,275.00

Though JB Blunk was known for moving fluidly between materials and disciplines, this handmade brass tray is a reproduction of Blunk’s only known work in brass. A very early work from the late 1950s or early 1960s, its straightforward utilitarian directness is counterbalanced with delicate, precise corner folds and beautifully rendered wooden handles. The original tray was a well-loved object in the Blunk House, used for weekend breakfasts in bed, flamboyant desserts of rum-soaked raisins set on fire, and tea ceremonies with friends in the shaded gravel zen garden in front of the Blunk House.

The Blunk Tray is crafted by Jack Sasaki of Summer Studios, made in collaboration with Commune.
