Blunk Bangle - Silver

$570.00

A bracelet cast from a unique piece of jewelry that JB Blunk made in 1965, featuring a cylindrical silver band fitted with a solid silver sliding charm and assembled by Tess Young.

Blunk made his original bangle as a gift for writer and poet Jacqueline Johnson, who was married to the Surrealist painter Gordon Onslow Ford. As much a piece of wearable kinetic sculpture as it is an example of fine jewelry-making, the Blunk Bangle feels at once ancient and totally contemporary.

Blunk began making jewelry in 1954 at Palos Verdes College in Los Angeles where he taught ceramics. He continued to make one-off pieces throughout his life from his studio in Inverness, California.

Packaging designed by Kajsa Ståhl of Åbäke.
